Here my second draft after trying out a number of sounds that didn't fit in with my piece. its simpler than i had planned it to be. I am aware that the sound levels are low right now but i am waiting to finish the piece before normalizing as it doing so before finishing it has messed up my file a few times.

Final Project (very rough draft 1)

My final project is about a fictional story of a person recalling the day his/her mother died and the belief that people become stars when they die. I have a lot more to add to this mainly in terms of sounds in the background etc. I am hoping to be able to create a number of sound frequencies to give the feeling of someone traveling through outer space.

Here my second draft of the audio portrait. It might seem incomplete because of the pauses, but i have left it that way intentionally for now as i hoping to get some advise on how to include the pauses without making the piece sound lengthy and abrupt.

I played around with the sound of birds i had recorded in the woods to create another sonic haiku this time in the form of a narrative.

Audio Portratit Rough draft 1

This is an absolutely rough draft where i haven't even mixed all the different parts of the conversation i had with the library desk attendant Maria. As of now its just bits of the shortened conversation (which i have brought down to about 5 minutes from 11)i am hoping to get some more recording on Tuesday after which i will know how to arrange the piece and cut it even shorter. In this piece Maria mainly talks about her extremely heavy Romanian accent and the problems she faces because of it.

Sonic Haiku

This is my first draft of the sonic Haiku. I have recorded sounds of church bells that ring between 1.30 and 2pm every afternoon at north campus. Not quite being used to the sound of bells, this was something that caught my attention immediately in my first week in Ann arbor.

This is a list names all the people i owe money. I have used tabla (an indian drum) beats in the back ground after each name. There are a few more sounds to be added in the back ground and i am not very happy with the tone of the voice in this piece so i might play around with that for my Final draft.

On the Road (rough draft)

This is a very rough version of the piece. It talks about a journey on Central Campus (which was basically round and round in what i am guessing was the same area) on my first day in Michigan,when a friend and i walked for about an hour looking for a place, since we were new in town and the country and thus unfamiliar with the roads.
The piece requires a small amount of narration which is yet to be added. It may sound abrupt as the narration is meant to happen at the beginning and end.
